Well I've been called so many names
like short and dumb and smelly and strange
but there's one thing that always sticks out like a sore thumb

May not get gold in playing guitar
or have the best looks or drive the best car
but in having a big ol' head, I'm number one

God bless my dear old mom
she lived a clean life and did nothing wrong
but boy her baby's head was a sight to see

And in middle school they'd give me hell
"Hey Melon Head!" they'd often yell
and they were right, I was a little bit top heavy

Well I kept on waiting to grow into it
maybe find some hats that would actually fit
but it appeared that this would be my destiny

See my grandpa had a big ol' noggin
and dad made sure the trait wasn't stoppin'
and if you look up at me now, I'm sure you'll see

When I'd come home with the big head blues
my mom would know just what to do
and her wisdom still sticks with me to this day

She said son if what they're saying is true
and it is... I mean look at you
then just laugh right along with 'em, and you'll be okay

Yeah I know my dome has its own orbit
but when it came to where I was gonna sit
I was never in the front of the class 'cause no one could see

So I sat in back and goofed around
with the folks were always bringing me down
and mom's advice had worked, and we got friendly

Well I like to think I turned out alright
behaved myself and stayed out of fights
'cause nobody wanted to hurt their hand on my cranium

And even though I look like Beavis' friend
I think I got the last laugh in the end
I got a big head full of friends names and silly songs
